Soldier & Family Readiness Group (SFRG)

Overview

The Soldier and Family Readiness Group (SFRG) is a vital program designed to support the well-being and readiness of Soldiers and their families. As a volunteer-led organization, the SFRG provides a network of support, resources, and communication to help families navigate the challenges of military life. Our mission is to empower families with the knowledge, skills, and connections they need to thrive, both on and off the installation.

About Us

The SFRG is a command-sponsored program that operates at the unit level, with a focus on building a sense of community and camaraderie among Soldiers and their families. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where families can connect, share experiences, and access resources to help them cope with the unique challenges of military life. From deployment support to family events, the SFRG is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our Soldiers and their loved ones.

Our Role in Unit Communication

The SFRG works closely with the unit commander to ensure that communication lines are open and effective, keeping family members informed about unit-related functions, events, and information. By serving as a liaison between the commander and families, the SFRG helps to:

  • Keep families informed about unit deployments, training exercises, family events and other significant events
  • Facilitate communication between the commander and families, ensuring that concerns and questions are addressed
  • Connect families with resources and support services, both on and off the installation
  • Foster a sense of community and belonging among families, helping to reduce feelings of isolation and disconnection

By working together with the unit commander, the SFRG helps to ensure that families are informed, supported, and empowered to thrive, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties.
