Welcome to the Idaho Air National Guard!
The Idaho Air National Guard is located and headquartered in beautiful Boise, Idaho and provides a variety of unique capabilities in support of both its state and federal missions. Its combat units consist of a fighter wing with organic air tactical control capability. The Idaho Air National Guard also maintains an ability to carry out operations in the cyber domain through its Cyber Operations Squadron. The Idaho Air Guard includes a number of combat support capabilities from civil engineering and logistics to security forces, in addition to a myriad of other support functions from administration to command and control during state emergency response. The Idaho Air National Guard facilitates critical training to the nation’s combat air power through its range squadron, which provides not only highly advanced ground-to-air threat training, but also provides air space traffic control to combat units training in the more than 10,000 square miles of premier training air space in the local area. The main mission of the Idaho Air National Guard is to protect, preserve and defend the lives, property and individual liberties of the citizens of Idaho and the United States, and to support and defend the constitutions of the State of Idaho and United States of America and the democratic traditions and institutions they embody.

The 266th Range Squadron (RANS) supports the DoD with world-class threat emitter training and air battle management for US and coalition warfighters, to include 5th gen platforms. Relying on ingenuity and constant customer contact, the 266 RANS has employed real world tactics beyond traditional electronic threats to deliver a top-notch service. The 266 RANS continuously deploys globally to bring electronic threats to the warfighter.
Brid. Gen. Michael A. Nolan is the Assistant Adjutant General-Air, of the Idaho National Guard. He is responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, plans and programs for all units assigned to the Idaho Air National Guard, which includes the 124th Fighter Wing equipped with A-10s, the 266th Range Squadron, the 124th Air Support Operations Squadron, and the 212th Command and Control Squadron.
Colonel Britt C. Vanshur is the Director of Staff, Joint Forces Headquarters, Idaho Air National Guard. He serves as the principal advisor to the Adjutant General and/or Assistant Adjutant on a broad range of matters concerning the United States Air Force and Air National Guard. Colonel Vanshur is the Chief Executive Officer responsible for the diversified function including Logistics, Information Systems, Manpower and Personnel, Public Affairs, Recruiting and Retention, 266th Range Squadron, and medical and State emergency responses.
Command Chief Master Sergeant Sidney A. Brown is the State Command Chief of the Idaho Air National Guard, Gowen Field, Boise, Idaho. Chief Brown is the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Assistant Adjutant General-Air.
